Chow Ciao Chow is a Hong Kong-based visual artist known for his vivid rainbow palette and emotionally charged characters that often laugh and cry at the same time.

Trained in fashion and textiles, he worked in the fashion industry before co-founding the well-loved experimental space Mum’s Not Home in Yau Ma Tei, Hong Kong, where his artistic career flourished.

Chow’s paintings - created with bold watercolour and acrylic strokes - blend humour, vulnerability, and queer identity, revealing the hidden emotions behind everyday faces. His works often explore the coexistence of joy and sadness, reminding viewers that even the brightest “suns” can quietly weep.

Celebrated for his expressive style, Chow has collaborated with major brands and exhibited widely across the city.
